Born in a “long, blonde body,” Jeanne ditches society’s hypnotic lure of life as a lingerie model to take on exploitation within the fashion industry, a cause that she is willing to be judged for as a person of privilege. Jeanne has seen this exploitation from two angles: first through the objectification of her body as a model, and later at a factory worker protest in Nepal. This led to an “Aha” moment when she met an older Nepali woman while traveling, who told her, "your eyes look like a celebration, but your outfit says ‘No.’” At that moment, Jeanne traded in modeling, the Berlin party scene, and her all black wardrobe to create Zazi Vintage. Through her company, she is bringing the soul and stories of colorful, vintage, and handmade garments to the world, choosing to collaborate with women from Uzbekistan, Mongolia, Afghanistan and India, giving them the fair compensation they deserve. To hear more about how clothing built a bridge from herself to others, watch Jeanne’s full episode.
